Leafy greens are especially good for people who suffer from asthma. Garlic is also good for the respiratory system, especially the lungs. It has been used in home remedies for many years along with lemon and hot water to ease the symptoms of a flu such as sore throat and coughing.

Flavonoids are found in plants, and are responsible for the vivid coloring of some plants. Within the human body, flavonoids act as antioxidant and helps decrease inflammation such as the one caused by asthma. It is found in onions, blueberries, and apples.
